It takes around two weeks to make a batch of 20 handmade frames. The process begins with cutting denim — black, blue, or undyed — before each pair passes through over 50 meticulous steps, from first sketch to final polish.
We use a vacuum infusion process to draw resin through layers of denim, creating the durable composite material used in our frames. A mould is built using a large sheet of glass and a precise layering of materials—peel ply, transport mesh, and bagging film—to form an airtight seal around the denim. Once sealed, resin mixed with hardener is drawn through the mould and left to cure for 24 hours, allowing the material to fully harden and take shape.

Once the material has hardened, we use computer-controlled equipment—including a CNC machine and laser cutter—to precisely cut all the components needed to make our frames.

Jack has designed a range of custom metal components, which we assemble alongside the hardened denim pieces. Using a specially made assembly jig, we carefully align and fit the parts—particularly around the hinges—to ensure each frame is put together with precision.

Once the lenses are in place, each pair is carefully cleaned, the hinges are tightened, and the frames are packaged with care before being sent out via our local post office.
