Journal 18 - Get to know...Will

If you've read some of our previous journal articles you will know that some time last year Jack decided he needed a little help with all of the making due to the popularity of his frames growing so fast. As a result Jack hired Will, Karl and then me (Laura) to work alongside him to help with the making and general running of the business. If you're familiar with Jack on Youtube, Instagram, Tik Tok or Facebook you might know a bit about him already? Things like his favourite childhood toy, Penvelope (his dog) or his love for biscuits? Its very unlikely that you know anything about the rest of us though! So when brainstorming some journal article ideas I thought why not get to know us a little better.

I decided to start with Will, for no other reason than he was standing next to me when I decided to write this the next article! So lets kick off 20ish questions with Will...!

When did you join Mosevic?

Last year September ish

What do you do at Mosevic?

Mainly assembling frames, getting covered in superglue and the lead constructor of random projects (The most recent one was making some makeshift shutters for the workshop to help keep it cooler in summer!)

Favourite Mosevic frame?

Andromeda because they are the biggest frame (although Will has made himself a rather unique pair of frames, that Jack has assured me will never be sold to the general public!)

We love biscuits at Mosevic, what's your favourite biscuit?

Chocolate malted milks no question!

What’s your favourite part of the making process?

Defluffing - This involved cleaning out all of the little sections for the brass to fit into so they fit properly, its a very relaxing part of the process.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

A dog...it's a running joke in the family as it's what I always said growing up! I just love dogs.

Tell us about your creations.

I use offcuts from the frames to make little dice, they are still a work in progress but I am hoping to make dice earrings and other dice based things! I use dice a lot as I love board games so thought why not make some?

I also create awkward situations regularly, and I'm rather messy!

'

Where are you from? And why did you move to Cornwall?

Westward Ho! in North Devon (Fun fact Westward Ho! is the only place name in the UK that has an exclamation mark in its name!) I moved to Cornwall for my previous job, I had no choice but its worked out quite well.

What’s your favourite thing about Cornwall?

The weirdos, they make me feel at home

If you could change one thing about the world what would it be?

Get rid of all the not world peace

What’s your favourite film?

Baseketball (Its like Basketball but Base-ketball)

Do you have any pets?

Yes. A sausage dog called Slippy.

What do you love most about Slippy?

That he loves me, and that he loves me more than my girlfriend.

If you could be an animal what animal would you be?

A sausage dog.

What's your favourite type of weather?

Snow because everybody gets a day off, its like mini lockdowns.

What song do you sing in the shower?

Vicinity of Obscenity by SOAD (If like me you had never heard of this song take a listen below!)

What is the weirdest thing in your home?

My Girlfriend.

If you could pick a super power what would it be?

Teleportation, I just want to teleport anywhere and everywhere really quickly.

What skill would you like to learn over the next 5 years?

To perfect my jump spinning farts. Also CAD.

What would your death row meal be?

Something to make me do HORRENDOUS farts out of spite for the people who work in the capital punishment industry.

What is your favourite random fact?

The rings of Saturn are really thin, especially in the context of space and how big space stuff is, some say they are between 10-100 meters thick!

If you decided to write a book what would it be about?

Life as a teleporting sausage dog

So there you have it, a little round up of the weird and wonderful Will. If you've ordered a pair of frames in the last 6-8 months you can be 100% certain that Will will have been a vital part of making your frames. And although I was quite sure he was going to say his death row meal would have been Gnocchi with the Aussie Smokers (A business a that is a stones throw from our workshop!) smoked chilli jam (Because he has this for lunch everyday) his answers did not surprise me in the slightest! We are not quite sure what we would do without him or Slippy at the workshop now, as they say 'Like father like son' he is just as quirky as Will!

Catch us in a month or two for our next 'Get to know...' where we will be chatting to the mysterious Karl.
